Hello! I’m a small town girl and a born and raised Oregonian, and I’ve loved every minute of it…but I am really looking forward to traveling the world and soaking up all cultures. All I want to do in life is create new things and share my ideas with the world. There are so many interesting people in the world, and I want to meet them all and learn about their lives and their country’s politics, basically anything and everything that is fascinating. I seek out new inspiration every day. By meeting new people and talking to them, I gain inspiration. Once I gain that inspiration, all I want to do is share my ideas with those people. Other things I gain inspiration from are nature, people and and every day surroundings.
I love fashion, and that industry is where my heart belongs. Ever since I was in the eighth grade, I’ve dreamt of being a fashion designer, and I still sketch today. However, that dream has slowly faded away as I’ve realized I would just love to be a part of the industry in any way. I really hope to work in fashion communications and help a brand create and build its name. I love anything to do with fashion, photography and international politics, along with many other things. I also secretly have a nerdy passion for investor relations and financial communications.
But this is now, so we’ll see what happens. Currently, I’m a junior at the University of Oregon in the School of Journalism and Communications who’s majoring in public relations and advertising. The SOJC awarded me the Arlyn E. Cole scholarship for the 2012-2013 school year. I’m also a new member of IR Futures, a newly founded club in the SOJC, which focuses on investor relations and financial communications. I plan to finish my Bachelor of Arts degree in journalism with a double emphasis in public relations and advertising in June 2015.
After graduation, I plan to be employed with an advertising or public relations firm where I will be working with clients to make their brand or company the best it can be. My absolute dream would to be working as a fashion communicator for a high fashion brand.
Until next time,
